Real Estate has been my 24/7/365 work since 1989. I began as a Real Estate Appraiser in Naples, Florida. Coming from a liberal arts background with a BA in English and a Secondary Education Minor, learning the economics and mathmatics surrounding real estate appraising was challenging and exciting. However, there wasn't much in the way of human interaction.
In 1995, I decided that I knew real estate well enough to put myself in the public domain as a salesperson. For seven years I sold Naples, Florida real estate and won a number of awards along the way - including top agent in my company's Fifth Avenue office. Ironically, that was the same year that I received my Florida State Certified Residential Appraiser's license. In 1999 I sat for the Florida Broker's License.
In 2002 my wife received her dream job which required our family relocating to Chattanooga, TN. Chattanooga is a border state, so I applied for and received a Real Estate Broker's license in both Georgia and Tennessee. The move gave me first hand experience in work relocation. the process also showed me in depth differences between state laws and regionally accepted best practice in real estate.
